In a statement, the society described the feat as an “outstanding performance,” adding that it “proudly congratulates its representatives” for their success at the national competition.

The society also stated that the team “emerged as the First Runner-Up Overall,” noting that the achievement reflects the quality of advocacy and legal training within the Faculty of Law of Olabisi Onabanjo University.

It specifically commended the team representatives — Ogunkilede Olamijulo, Adetola Rachael, Ipadeola Folorunsho, and Ajisafe Rachael stating, “You have brought great pride to the Faculty of Law.”

The statement further acknowledged the contributions of participants in the qualifying essay stage, saying their “intellectual efforts formed the foundation of this success.” Those recognised include Abdulateef Yusuf, Rebecca Joseph, Ibrahim Yisa, Daniel Sotomi, Temiloluwa Adeoye, and Josephine Oluwaga.

The society added that the achievement serves as a motivation for other students, urging them to be part of the organisation and strive for excellence in advocacy and legal scholarship.

The competition is one of the prominent advocacy contests in Nigeria, bringing together law students to test their skills in legal reasoning and courtroom performance.
